“davey's new single, ‘fake to me,’ is a guidebook to modern R&B openness. The track envelops you in a slow, aching ballad that encapsulates the raw tension of a relationship on the edge. Coming in as a fresh indie-R&B cut, the harmony of the subtle production and raw emotions allows davey's vocal to bear the brunt and weight of heartache with absolute ease.

davey's "i really thought" is an ode to lost love [Review](Zillions Magazine)

by Zillions Magazine

In his recent single "i really thought," davey opens a tender, muted window into that slack and hazy distance between love and loss, the bittersweet headspace where reflection meets openness. Inspired by Lo-Fi and Alternative R&B, he delivers a raw, vulnerable track that is both intimate and relatable.

WHo is davey?

Born in Spokane, Washington, davey started far away from where he's at today, a common theme across his career. The 24-year-old singer, songwriter, and producer is an alternative R&B artist from Kansas City whose influences, themes, and experiences across his life vast widely.

His musical journey started as a young child, where he would sing around his childhood home. Taking inspiration from Filipino culture in his family, davey's interest in singing and music blossomed into his teen years. During this time is where he began classical training on multiple instruments, but ultimately, fell in love with audio production and hip-hop at the age of 13.

As a teenager, davey would drop numerous lofi and hip-hop songs on the browser DAW Audiotool under the name Oddity. These songs formed the basis of his understanding of music production. Later, he would explore creative writing and poetry, which would result in his first project on Soundcloud in 2018, RIP Summer, under his former alias daveyfrommars. Six years later, davey would go on to release new music under his name and with NOISE COMPLAINT

His current music explores his internal monologues of his own self image and themes of love, loss, relationship dynamics and the dark aspects of mental health.
